The Food and Drug Administration (FDA), led by Director General Dr. Samuel A. Zacate, fully supported the Lab for All program of the First Lady Louise Araneta Marcos which was held at Barangay Addition Hills, Mandaluyong City on 24 June 2024.

The event was also a celebration of Pride Month, further emphasizing the inclusivity and diversity at the heart of the Lab for All initiative. In his welcoming remarks, Mandaluyong City Mayor Benjamin Abalos Sr. extends his full support to the program and to the whole LGBTQIA++ community.

Numerous esteemed figures attended, reflecting the wide-reaching support for the program. Among the notable attendees were LGBT Pilipinas President Dindi Tan, Pag-IBIG Fund CEO Marilene Acosta, Chief Persida-Rueda Acosta of the Public Attorney’s Office (PAO), Secretary Benjamin Abalos Jr. of the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG), and Congresswoman Geraldine Roman of the 1st District of Bataan. Vinny Marcos, son of the President Bongbong Marcos and First Lady Lisa Marcos, was also present in the said event. Their presence underscored the importance of accessible healthcare access in the community.

Lab for All program aims to deliver free medical and laboratory services directly to the people, particularly targeting communities with limited access to healthcare. The event in Mandaluyong City exemplified the program’s impact, showcasing the successful collaboration between government agencies and community leaders.

The event proved to be a resounding success, with 1,138 registered patients receiving 1,381 laboratory tests and services, 137 dental procedures, and 173 consultations. The FDA’s continued support to the Lab for All program is part of its mandate to ensure the safety, efficacy, and quality of health products in the country. The agency is committed to supporting similar initiatives to enhance public health and provide essential services to more communities across the Philippines.
