On 06 June 2024, FDA Director General Dr. Samuel A. Zacate visited the FDA Regional Field Office No. XI in Davao City and the Davao Testing and Quality Assurance Laboratory (DTQAL) in Tagum City. The visit aimed to ensure that all employees and facilities are functioning well and to discuss future plans for the regional office and satellite laboratory in Mindanao.

During his visit, Dr. Zacate conducted a thorough inspection of the facilities, assessing their condition and operational efficiency. He took the opportunity to engage with the staff, reviewing their work processes and addressing any concerns they might have.

Dr. Zacate also held discussions about future plans for the FDA Davao Region and Davao Satellite Laboratory, focusing on enhancing public service delivery, improving regulatory processes, and ensuring that the office continue to meet the needs of the communities they serve. He highlighted the importance of satellite offices in bringing FDA services closer to the people and emphasized their role in maintaining public health and safety.
